Javanese Court Dancer

She will introduce the basics of Javanese Dance in this workshop and demonstration. This is for people who are curious about what is behind the art of Javanese dance, and those who consider taking up Javanese dance more intensively.

Participants will have a right for priority registration for upcoming dance courses from august on, and a special discount for those courses.

For 5 to 15 active participants: $10 per person

Beginners Javanese Dance Workshop
(for individual and group).


Take the opportunity to learn a Javanese classical dance from a professional Javanese dancer from Solo, Central Java. Our instructor has years of teaching and performing experience in Singapore, Indonesia, USA, and Europe. She will teach individual lessons for all levels, as well as a group course for beginners. At the end of a course sequence (8 sessions) will be a performance opportunity with live gamelan music.

Javanese Dance (individual lessons)
Duration: 8 sessions @ 60min (weekly)
Time: Mon, Wed, Fri 9am-2pm, Tue 9am-6pm; lessons to be arranged individually
Venue: ARTYFAKT - space for intercultural arts, 28 Petain Road, Little India
(upon arrangement, lessons can be held in Gillman Heights, Depot Road)
Fee: $400 for 8 sessions

Javanese Dance (group)
Duration: 8 sessions @ 90min (weekly)
Time: Group1: Tuesday, 7pm-8.30pm; Group2: Wednesday 10am-11.30am
Venue: ARTYFAKT - Space for Intercultural Arts, 28 Petain Road, Little India
Fee: $180 (discount for students $140); min6 - max 14 participants
